Anthropic reports an early biology discovery with Claude
Anthropic describes a research program in which Claude agents searched biological datasets and identified an enzyme system for further laboratory investigation. The company released a preprint and says the system’s primary function is still being studied. Human scientists supplied the initial direction and performed laboratory work. The announcement reports an early research finding, not a validated treatment or a finished biotechnology product.
Why it matters
A scientific agent’s useful output can be a hypothesis worth testing. Inspect the experimental evidence and unresolved questions before presenting a discovery as an established application.

The Copilot app adds project-level local sandboxing
The Copilot app’s public-preview sandbox controls file access, network access and selected credentials for local project sessions. It is off by default, applies to new sessions or restarted sessions, and can be restricted further by enterprise settings. GitHub says an unenforceable requested policy makes the shell fail rather than run without isolation. App and CLI sandbox settings are separate.
Why it matters
A permission toggle only helps if the operating system enforces it and the active session uses it. Verify the effective settings before letting an agent operate on sensitive local files.

Copilot adds personal and enterprise review settings
GitHub introduced a dedicated personal code-review settings page across Copilot plans, including separate controls for draft pull requests and new pushes. Enterprise administrators can set a default review effort for organization-owned repositories. Users can also choose effort when requesting a review manually. The announcement describes these configuration changes as generally available.
Why it matters
Automatic review settings change when a review runs; effort settings change the requested depth. Check both so repeated pushes do not create unexpected review activity.
